Merry Boxing Day!

Grace Adler once said [and we all know how much i love her]

"The holidays are all about misery and obligation"

I've done the obligation part. I went to church. I hung out with the extended family. I exchanged presents. I made the international phone calls [this is where the misery comes in]. Now it's my time to celebrate. So i'm back home on my couch. It's almost five. I'm in my pyjamas. I have my coffee and im all set to watch the boxing day test.

GO DADA! [it's his 100th test] and GO INDIA!

edited at 12:42 We're suddenly feeling very festive. It might have something to do with Kumble having just taken a five wicket haul. Anyway here's a picture of a fun christmas tree i saw at gap. In case you cant tell those would be balls of yarn and gap's winter scarves.

One hour later, don't you think it is turning out to be one familiar Aussie and one familiar Indian story over the past few years? Effective but unlucky Indian bowling at times, a couple of near misses, a Aussie team that sounds depressingly resurgent after those aforementioned near misses of the past hour, and cynical ME moaning in disgust, perhaps too soon.

*sigh*

hehe. the run rate isnt helping either. neither is the fielding. or the fact that we have two spinners and we've lost the toss. maybe our boys need some food in them. i predict a fired up zak after lunch. and of course captain courageous kumble. i dont know. bharosa rak or something.

also where it be the green in the pitch? the pitch is so blah.

Honestly I thought it was a perfect first day pitch. First hour, bowlers keep batsman quiet and honest. The batsmen if they are intelligent lull the fielding team into complacency and wait for mistakes to happen, which is exactly what Australia did. And I can't figure out, for the love of God, why successive Indian captains bring Dada on as first change and second change. Today, Hayden tucked into him like it was lunch time come early :P
I have been proven wrong by Dada in a number of occasions, but what has never been proved otherwise is my view that Dada is at best a ball warmer.
*sigh* I am hyperventilating now. Zack just made a hash of a routine save and Harbhajan presents a familiar sight!

Is it just me or does dada always underperform after one great performance. The Indian team in fact. They have a personal vengeance against consistency.

just hyperventilating...this comment box felt warm and comfortable for the purpose.

Woooohoo! 3 down now for 165!

crazy diamond: underperform? the man hasnt even gotten a bat in his hand yet. it isnt his fault he's our makeshift third "seamer". there's no excuse for the attrocious fielding though. both him and kumble have been fielding terribly today but hey if they do what they do best which is batting and bowling all will be forgiven.

anantha: you feeling better now? i told you bharosa rak. they just needed some lunch.

Your blog's weird. I can almost swear I wrote something here about stress relieving methods for the athletes, and it's vanished now.
