is there such a thing as carom board powder because i swear just now i could smell it on this guy. i wanted to warn him of the possibility of a skin rash but i wasnt sure if he would know what carom board powder was or even what a carom board was. also maybe my family was cheap and used regular powder the whole time we were kids. i might never find out.

raise your hand if you think this is deep enough for a postsecret entry.

Carrom Board Powder does definitely exist...when kids, we used it once or twice...but most of the while, as you said, it got substituted with the regular talcum powder...my mom's good old Cuticura!(did I get the name right?)

I thought boric acid powder (aka carrom board powder) was odorless!

Was always told as a kid that regular powder would spoil the board. We used boric acid powder, which like someone said was odorless.

Also, please pretty please for the secret entry.

Yes, I boughtted new carrom board recently and gotted one bottle free also. Only they make really ugly strikers these days. I wanted just a plain simple white one, but no, they have ones with ugly greeting card like flowers on them, or they're purple and pink and all.

Apparently I'm also better at carrom than I was some ten odd years back, Or maybe the people I played with are really bad. Still, I found something I can win in.

I WANT SCRABOULOUS BACK!!!

I'm doing random commenting today since I'm already a bit drunk. I can't remember if I found TGFI through you or the other way around.

Shit you are so fucking funny (yes, even when not in a drunken state). You make me think of random things that once I think of them, remember that I wouldn't have ever thought of them unless triggered off by stuff like yours.

Looks like my family was cheap about this too. Except my grandfather I think, who got the boric acid stuff.

Sigh.

GB said...

@Anki- Oh we used to skate on Nycil too!!! Same pinch, no back pinch.

Raises hands.

We used cuticura (or was it Ponds?) we liked the good smelling stuff.

On a diff note, Brothers and Sisters rocks. Have I told you how much I love you? :)

Babe, its boric acid, it does not smell and if he is still smell of something else.. ask him if he was trying to be a smart ass by mixing up boric with nycil. The truth is, it helps the coin run smoothly, whereas here.. people are NOT !

still glaring.

I protest.

Bikerdude said...

um all our carrom games would end with the cuticura powder smeared on each others faces. I sucked at carrom, but always won at the smear campaign.

PS: Your parents used Gokul Santol powder. Cuticura and Nycil smell fairly nice no?

Who decides how words like Cuticura and Nycil are supposed to be pronounced?

Actually boric acid would have been cheaper than talcum powder. So your family was not cheap, unless, they were buying talcum powder that was cheaper than said carrom board powder. And, boric acid is an antiseptic, so you might have actually smelled it on that guy.

you can use any body powder or even maida for carom.

So, I am not sure which powder you are talking about.
